FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about visiting and training at Iron Fortress.
Hours & Access
Members, punchcard, and day-pass holders get round-the-clock keyless entry by scanning the front-door lock with the Iron Fortress Gym App. The Fortress is always open for training, whether or not staff are on site. You never have to wait for staffed hours to get a session in.
Staff are on-site weekdays from 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM and weekends from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM for tours, questions, and general assistance. Outside of staffed hours the Fortress operates completely self-service — detailed poster instructions at the door walk you through getting access if you are a first time visitor or need help.
Yes, and you don't need to wait around for staffed hours. Day passes and punchcards can be purchased ahead of time online or at the door. Once purchased, you get immediate 24/7 access — just show up, follow the access instructions at the entrance, and train. No appointment, no sales pitch, no nonsense - just train hard.
Getting Started
Every option marked with 24/7 access includes true 24/7/365 access to the Fortress. Here is how to get in the door:
- Purchase a day pass, punchcard, or membership: Choose an option marked 24/7 Access and complete checkout.
- Download the Iron Fortress Gym App: Sign in with the same email you used at checkout. One app handles door access, bookings, your membership, and your profile.
- Scan the front-door lock with the app: Arrive at the gym, open the Iron Fortress Gym App, and scan the lock on the front door to unlock and enter. Scanning the door IS your check-in — there's no separate step.
- Train. That's it. No appointment, no front-desk stop, no extra scanner.
Yes — every visit, no exceptions. Checking in is how we verify that only authorized members and guests are in the facility, and it's a condition of your membership or pass. Scanning the front-door lock with the Iron Fortress Gym App IS your check-in, every visit, members and guests alike. There's no separate iPad scan or front-desk step.
Failure to scan in will incur a $100 fee per occurrence (or such other amount as Iron Fortress may post from time to time), charged to the payment method on file. Repeated violations are grounds for termination of access without refund.
Tailgating is the same violation. Letting another person enter the facility on your scan — or walking in behind another member without scanning the door yourself — is treated as a separate $100-per-occurrence violation, whether or not it was intentional.
Training & Programs
Iron Fortress is a hybrid training facility — not a coaching-only gym and not just an open floor. We offer multiple avenues depending on how you train:
- Open Gym — 24/7 access to the full facility. Run your own program, on your own schedule. No classes required.
- Events — Competitions, meetups, and community happenings throughout the year.
We support powerlifting, streetlifting, calisthenics, Hyrox, and endurance — plus general strength & conditioning. Every discipline has dedicated equipment and programming, and our community includes athletes who compete at the state and national level.
At the Fortress
Iron Fortress is built with competition-grade, specialty equipment across every discipline — calibrated plates, combo racks, multiple power racks, calisthenics rigs (including an indoor Kenguru Pro), specialty bars, cable crossovers, deadlift platforms, and recovery (dry sauna pods and an ice plunge pod). Every piece was hand-picked for serious training — no filler, no fluff.
Yes — our fridge is stocked 24/7 with everything you need before, during, and after your session: hydration (electrolytes, coconut water, etc), quick carbs (Gatorade, Powerade, juice, etc), protein (shakes and bars), and caffeine (energy drinks). Checkout is self-service in the Iron Fortress Gym App and runs on the honor system: purchases are charged to the card on file.
Abuse of the honor system — including taking items without paying — will incur a $100 fee per occurrence (or such other amount as Iron Fortress may post from time to time), charged to the payment method on file, in addition to the cost of the item taken. Repeated violations will result in fridge access being revoked and may result in termination of access to Iron Fortress.
Yes — the Iron Fortress Pro Shop is online. Rep the Fortress wherever you go.
Yes — Iron Fortress is a content-friendly gym. We believe filming your sets is one of the best ways to improve session to session: you can review bar paths, catch technique breakdowns, track progress over time, and learn from your own training the same way the best athletes do.
Content creation is encouraged so long as it's conducive to training and improving. The two ground rules:
- Don't film other members without their consent. Frame your shots so other people aren't the focus, and ask first if someone might end up in the background.
- Don't let the phone hijack the session. Equipment stays in rotation — don't monopolize a rack, platform, or station to shoot. Train first, content second.

Billing & Cancellation
All recurring memberships bill on the 1st of each month. When you sign up mid-month, your first charge combines two things into one payment: a prorated fee for the remaining days of the current month, and your first full month. After that, you're billed your normal monthly rate on the 1st of every month — nothing else.
Example. Sign up on the 16th of a 30-day month for a $100/month tier and your checkout will show a one-time prorated fee of $50.00 for the remaining 15 days, plus $100.00 for your first full month — $150.00 today. After that, you'll just see $100.00 on the 1st of each month.
Yes. Day passes and punchcards are one-time purchases — no proration and no recurring charge. All one-time purchases are final at checkout (except as required by law), and any expiration or no-show terms will be disclosed before you buy.
Memberships are month-to-month — no long-term contracts. To stop a recurring membership, submit written notice (email is fine) at least 30 days before your next billing date. Requests made fewer than 30 days out take effect after the upcoming billing cycle, which you remain responsible for.
Cancellation is only effective once Iron Fortress acknowledges your request in writing — we typically respond within two business days. Verbal cancellations, social media messages, payment-card disputes, and account deletions don't count as cancellation, so please email us and keep proof of your submission.
Yes. By Colorado law, you have a three-business-day window after signing up for any recurring service to change your mind. Send written notice within 3 business days of signup and you'll receive a full refund of any payments made under that service.
Membership holds and freezes are available case-by-case, subject to approval and any terms disclosed for your specific membership. Reach out and we'll see what we can do.
No. Memberships are not prorated on the way out — no refunds are issued for unused days within an already-paid period (except as required by law).
The full cancellation terms — including the Colorado-law protections for death, permanent disability, or relocation more than 25 miles from any Iron Fortress location — live in Section 4 of the Iron Fortress Participation Agreement you'll agree to at checkout.
Community & Events
Yes — Iron Fortress hosts and participates in competitions, meetups, and community events throughout the year. From in-house throwdowns to USA Streetlifting and USA Powerlifting meets, there's always something on the calendar.
Iron Fortress started as free weekly group workouts in Denver's parks — no paywalls, no excuses, just work. That grassroots community grew into a recognizable brand, then into a purpose-built gym. Today the Fortress is led by its three co-founders and a team of coaches and competitive athletes across multiple disciplines.
